A serial abuser attacked, imprisoned and raped a woman at his home while on bail for an attack on another woman.

Yonattan Aroldy Gonzalez Pineda, 33, smashed a glass bottle over a woman’s face after she refused his advances in a bar on November 30, 2019.

He was arrested four days later and charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) in April 2020.

But while on bail awaiting trial, the “highly dangerous individual” went on to attack, imprison and rape another woman who he knew at his home in Tottenham, north London, on June 23.

He was re-arrested on July 4 and charged two days later with rape, false imprisonment and GBH.

Pineda, of no fixed abode, has now been found guilty of two counts of GBH, false imprisonment and rape at Wood Green Crown Court after a two-week trial in relation to both attacks. He is due to be sentenced in May.

The court heard that Pineda began harassing a woman he knew at a bar in Southwark, south London on November 30, 2019.

She repeatedly asked him to leave her alone, but he continued trying to engage her in conversation.

The woman decided to leave the bar with her friend, but Pineda followed them out and smashed a glass bottle over the woman’s face, jurors heard, leaving her with deep cuts.

The injured woman ran to a nearby police station, where she received medical treatment and reported the crime.

Pineda was arrested four days later and was charged with GBH by postal requisition on April 9, 2020.

He was granted bail while awaiting trial which is when he went on to attack, imprison and rape another woman at his home in Tottenham, north London, on June 23.

Speaking after Pineda’s conviction, Detective Constable Myles Bossman, of the Met Police’s North Area Public Protection Team, said: “Pineda is highly dangerous individual. He has subjected two women who he formed a relationship with to significant violence and has shown no remorse for his actions.

“The verdict is welcomed as it sends a clear message that such acts will not be tolerated.

“I would like to thank both victims for coming forward and supporting the police investigation.

“I hope this conviction goes some way to providing closure for the victims after what must have been a horrific experience.”

SHOWS HOW GROTESQUE THE BRITISH JUSTICE SYSTEM IS!!! WHY WOULD YOU GRANT BAIL TO A DANGEROUS CRIMINAL? IF HE WAS NOT BAILED, THE OTHER LADY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ATTACKED AND RAPED. RAPISTS SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN BAIL BUT LEFT IN PROTECTIVE CUSTODY AND NOT GIVEN BAIL TO HARM ANOTHER VICTIM.
