This afternoon we were graced with the exciting news that there’s a new royal baby on the block! Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank welcomed a baby boy earlier this morning, and they shared their exciting news with the world after some precious time together as a family.

30-year-old Eugenie posted a sweet family photograph on Instagram to announce her newfound motherhood, captioning it with three blue hearts and two exclamation marks, showing the new mum’s excitement over her tiny arrival. Ever since, the congratulations – inevitably – have been rolling in.

First off the mark to share public regards following the arrival of the currently-nameless new royal baby was none other than James Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger brother. Commenting on Princess Eugenie’s Insta-post, James wrote: “Congratulations such wonderful news ❤️ “

Well isn’t that lovely? I guess the new baby is… kind of, very indirectly related to James, so it’s sweet to make a public comment.

Elsewhere on the royal front, with the news being so fresh, we haven’t seen any further congratulations shared publicly. But the official royal family announcement did confirm that everyone’s pretty chuffed with the arrival of baby Brooksbank.

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news,” read the statement.

It also confirmed that “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital,” adding that mother and “are both doing well.”

Cheers to some happy lockdown news!
